This monogram dart cabinet was fun to build. Incorporating different letters and creating contrasts on the cabinet doors is always fun to experience and make. As a maker, taking standard lumber and creating a family fun zone (darts) is very rewarding. The customer went very simple on this one as far as the inside design. Chalk panels on each door, and then two coats of poly on the entire thing.
Carving the C and the G on this one were nothing too terribly difficult, but carving the curves can be a little challenging. With the vertical grain, you have to carve the curve from both directions otherwise you’ll get nasty splits and tear outs.
